Revised-Chain Plasma might work

Ok Bob, I understand what you are going to do with the chain now.
It sounds labor intensive but it should work. And it also sounds pretty
robust to dirt and grit which plasma cutting generates in huge
abundance.
A word about using ballscrews for flame cutting. I tried this
once. Make sure you know what cutting speeds you want BEFORE you build
your rig. You either need a really FAST motor or a really STEEP pitch
to get up to 200 ipm. The average plasma or oxy flame will make a
puddle out of anything thinner than 3/16" at less than 50 ipm.
Screw drives are not robust to grit, and I have never seen anything
make a mess like a plasma cutter. Sand blasting is cleaner.
Good luck Bob, I might just copy your idea.
