Ray, I agree with Bob Campbell re using a router in lieu of a
waterjet. This site http://www.waterjets.org/ has a tremendous
amount of info on most anything you could want to know about
waterjets. You can learn there why there is no such thing as a
good, cheap waterjet. Although the guy who runs this site is
connected to OMAX, a major wj manufacturer, I think you'll find the
material there is presented in a very objective manner. The fact
that his father is probably the world's most knowledgable authority
on cutting edge (no pun intended) waterjet design puts some pretty
good resources at his fingertips. Also, there's a cool downloadable
calculator on the site that allows plugging in materials,
thicknesses, etc and gives you pressures, garnet usage, etc. You'll
come away knowing far more than the average chimp about what they're
good for, what they're NOT good for, and a good idea of the cost of
operation (definitely not cheap to operate).
