do you think that work work to bolt the machine to?
I have used a cheap imported surface plate for a Sherline Mill, and it made
for a very solid and accurate mount.

I drilled holes for the mounting bolts, installed inserts with epoxy, and
later draw filed across them to be sure there was no part of them proud of the
accurate surface of the plate.
I also did the same to the area around the mounting holes of the mill, on
the bottom side. As it had been mounted on a softer surface earlier, and the
bottom of the holes were slightly below the actual base of the mill.
This caused a unstable mount, the draw filing cleaned it up so it was rock
solid before I even bolted it down.
