Vee,
This looks really cool! How fast is the air that flows out of this at
the end? Is it fast enough to also blow the chips out of the way? I get
the terrible fear when my swarf builds up - and this forces me to come
in with the paintbrush and keep sweeping it up for long operations (not
exactly completely automated CNC..)
They nicely give their plans on the site too, so I'll probably just
experiment at building my own.
Now I finally have an excuse to get that compressor I always wanted. :)
Regards,
Abby

Have you considered vortex cooling? All you need is about 2 cfm of
compressed air, no coolants to buy, no mess, chip removal. You can
get a setup for less than $200.00 (or build your own).
Its perfect for a home shop. The only downside is that is doesn't
add any lubrication to the tool, just cooling.
The link below will take you to one source of air powered vortex
coolers. I have bought their vortex enclosure coolers, and they work
great for years on end, no moving parts, no hassles!
