motor runaway

I have my control box almost finished. I hooked up the servos on the bench
(actually the kitchen table but we will not go there) and I can not get Z to
work properly. It wants to spin at a high rate as soon as the Gecko is up
and running. If I try and jog the motor it just jumps (in the correct
direction) and faults the Gecko. I am sure of my wiring. I am using
amphenol connectors and swapped the Z and Y axis connections. The problem
followed the Z motor. I rechecked the encoder hook up on the Z and it is
correct and just like the other motors.
Making adjustments on the Geckos does not change anything other than the
speed and force the motor spins.
I had all three hooked up breadboard style before and they worked then. Any
suggestions?
Thanks for any help,
Thomas
