Bill,
You might seach the surplus sites for 24v transformers.
This is a common secondary voltage and two 120v primary/
24v secondary with primaries in parallel and secondaries
in series would work. Both would have to be 20 A rated.
Toroid makes a kit custom transformer in which you wind
your own secondary with the supplied wire. It's about a turn
per volt. I think they sell these up to 1 kVA.

I am doing a cnc conversion of a rf-30 benchtop mill. I am looking for
a power transformer to use 110 vac input and output of 35-50 vac at
about 20 amps. I can get it from Plitron but the wait is over 4 weeks
as it must be custom wound, it isn't something they stock. Any
suggestions as to a good transformer supplier. Yes, I am looking at
ebay but couldn't find anything at this time
