A few years ago I owned a Compact 5 CNC - no fancy toolchanger 'though
:-) A very well made wee CNC lathe.
It's now in the hands of a good friend who transformed it by investing
in the Welsoft conversion hardware/software (http://www.welsoft.co.uk/)
- forget trying to connect using the RS232 - it runs so slow (about 75
or 110 baud as I remember) that you can just about enter the code on
the keypad faster :-))
I did write a couple of hand Gcode editors (with comms) for the Mac -
it worked fine - just a tad sloooow to transfer.

There is a post processor for the Alphacam software that works very
well (certainly using welsoft) - even for simple stuff, it makes life a
whole lot easier.

I believe that Peter Patient (welsoft) sadly died earlier this year but
the firm is kept going by his family.

Dig into the pockets and get the welsoft conversion.
