Well, in my Websters New World Dictionary (note, "New..."!!!), is is spelled
TWO ways. The first way with only ONE "i", it defines it as the metal, then,
with TWO "i's" as you have it, it defines it further as "The British
variation" ! ! !

Seriously! I was NOT attempting to be Mr. Smart Ass (note spelling!)! I was
just pointing out some things of which "everyone" is not aware. With our
schools the way they are, is there ANY hope a few ever WILL be? HOW do we expect
the youth following us to be able to conjure/construct CAD-CAM gear, either
professionally OR in a home-shop, with the sociologists in charge, and
spelling-attitudes like this??? Rant over. I retire again.
