Kitagawa ho-8 chuck

Hi.

I have a ikegai lathe(fx20n) with a kitagawa HO-8 chuck . I yanked out the control and used gecko drives with stepper motors from series 1 cnc mills . I have no complaints(must of profiled over 1000 aluminum wheels) with the system. I am upgrading the jaws(from aluminum to steel). I noticed i only have .125 of jaw movement. Is this the norm for this chuck?
