Not confusing at all. I have owned many manual machine tools over the years,
and have designed, built and programmed a PC based 3 axis table-top machine.
The backlash is a real concern, since the offshore Acme stuff really is
flaky.
OK, so now that I know a first requirement is to change to ballscrews, where
might you send me for info & prices?
Does anyone offer conversion kit packages?
and, finally, handwheels and dials alone are great for positioning mating
holes. I can't imagine why this would cause one to spend the $ on a
conversion...???
