At the NAMES CNC forum I promised to post the info about a recommended CNC
training manual. This one comes with a Lathe and Mill, G-code simulation
program. The software allows you to enter G-code and see the resulting
action immediately. It is good for learning, because you can play CNC,
without crashing your expensive machines.

be in java, maybe it will work in Linux?):
