I use Bobcad Version 18 and to my knowledge I'm one of the few supporters of it :-). When I first downloaded the trial version for this software I was very dissapointed with it. I couldnt get it to do anything as I was marginally proficient with Autocad, I know now the two softwares are very different. I deleted and it and kept looking. All the softwares that I liked were alot more than I wanted to spend and too sophisticated for the majority of tasks that I perform. It seemed they all had learning curves and none were what I was accustomed to. So, I reluctantly tried Bobcad again. I found a few lessons somewhere on the internet in PDF format and that made all the difference. I wound up purchasing Bobcad and I got the training CD's with it. That made a world of difference. Everything was explained in detail. I now use it daily.
Bobcad is not a very forgiving software. Everything matters from the way an object is drawn to how each entity (lines, points, etc) is selected and even the order they are selected for producing code. I strongly suggest finding these CD's or at least a manual. Its a very good software for general machining and design. Engraving, 3-D, Post processor selection from what I reviewed its the best deal for the money. Free support and updates to glitches in the software are non-existent so keep that in mind if you call them. They fix problems and call it a "new release" with a different V no. If you call them, *67 wouldnt be a bad idea.
