Reversing the Grizzly Mill

Get a DPDT toggle switch with an amps rating high enough for the field
current. It will have 6 contacts on the back, when looking at it, hook the upper
left terminal to the lower right terminal. Then hook the upper right
terminal to the lower left terminal. That is the secret to the reversing, at the
present time the center contacts will not have any connections on them.

Hook up the center terminals to the Grizzly, either wires 5, 6, or to the
terminal strip 5 or 6, but not both. Then hook up the remaining pair to the
upper left, and upper right terminals with the jumpers previous installed. See
below

The following is the rear view of the switch X is a physical terminal on
the switch.

Grizzly, terminal 5, plus jumper to lower right terminal... XA XB....
Grizzly,Terminal 6 plus jumper to lower left terminal.

Wire that went to terminal 5 in the Grizzly.....................XC
XD....Wire that went to terminal 6 in the Grizzly

Wire from upper right terminal, on the switch.................XE
XF....Wire from upper left terminal on the switch

You will see that when the switch is moved the wires connected to the center
terminals, are hooked too opposite wires due to the crossed jumpers, when
the switch is operated.
The center two terminals, XC, and XD, on the switch are the armature of the
switch, the pairs on the ends, XA or XB, pair or XE or XF pair are the ones
that make contact when the switch is moved. The two contacts connected are
at the opposite end of the switch from the direction you moved the handle of
the switch. Don't switch while motor is running, let it come to a complete
stop before switching.
Hope this is clearer than mud.
