Ron, the way it looks does matter to me. :)

Jon, thanks for the info. I realize my bed cannot be exactly flat
as the reason I got the slight lip in the first place proves this.
However it is not a surface plate I am building nor are they machine
ways, a slight undulation (reduced due to large overlap between
passes) is tolerable to me.

Jan, I will have to look into alternative inserts, I have a further
problem when it comes to "FINISHING" :) the Bokko mill I am using
has a few problems in the power feed department, essentially it is
very slow and does not work over the range it should. This I think
was especially bad when using the carbide inserts, perhaps so for
sharp inserts?

The head does have tilt adjustment so trying to tweak it might be
worth doing, I might do that anyway for future projects and for
others in the workshop (I am just a guest really).

Thanks all, I'll post an update when I have something to update.

Graham
