identifying un-marked servo motors

I have a couple servo motors from old ??? typewriter? printer ? disk
drive? Just stuff in the surplus/scrap box.
One is marked with voltage. 35 volts. no other notes of current or
anything.
The other has no labels.
both have something on the end, 4 wires. not sure what, but I can
pull off the cover and find out what type of feedback it might offer.
Any ideas on how to identify these motors ?
