Many chucks will have a thru-hole, which can be seen when the jaws are fully
open.

If your chuck has one, you _might_ be able to drive the R8 mandrel out by
using a rod through the hole.
Before you try it, make up a little jig of some sort; maybe a short section
of 2.6 with a hole in it just big enough for the R8, and stand it up on some
cement blocks, and PUT A PIECE OF WOOD UNDERNEATH so that if the arbor DOES
come loose, it won't get damaged.
Then use a good, strong steel rod, and smack it HARD with a hammer.

If no hole, or if that doesn't work, you may be able to use a ball-joint
fork or even a set of chuck-removal wedges to get the chuck loose. The
wedges are small u-shaped wedges; you install them one from each side, and
squeeze in a vise, and as the get pressed together, the assembly expands in
thickness, and hopefully pushes the chuck off of the arbor.

I'd like to move my Jacobs chuck for my CNC Bridgeport from the R8
taper mandrel (JT-3) and move it to my NMTB-30 taper JT-3 mandel.

What's the best way to remove it without buggering it up?

Thanks in advance,
Jeff
