Piotr,
I can only reccomend some commercial avenues.
Heidenhain 306/406/416 ( soon discontinued but good). I've used for 7 years
integrating many machines. 3 to 5 axis, generator control,m auto power staging,
has tool tables, erosion tables, position tables, orbits and hypothetical axis
(Tilt the z to any vector in space)

Machine Mate (USA) and PowerAutomation (DE) have inexpensive 4 axis CNC EDM
(figger at least 4 to 5 K$US). No internal sense about EDM but they showed
me it
run with +/-10V external signal, fwds & bwds thru a Gcode Program.

Aerotech (USA) , very sophisticated, highly modular. Can be run thru
LabView or the supplied MMI. Use 'MFO' to do fwd/bwd. (manual fed override,
but BIPOLAR), so can
retrace by handlwheel as well.

An advantage to a commercial control is the support.

Search Germany for 'David & Goliath' EDM, I remember some 'Opem EDM'
initiative
there.

regards
TomP
