can be connected directly to the Gecko drive inputs.
However, you might WANT to add a breakout board in between for reasons
of signal isolation, ease of wiring and the charge pump safety circuit.
I use the PMDX breakout board and find it very good. There are others.
The term 'motion controller' often refers to the device that does the
real time signal generation. There are system that use various motion
controller boxes that are sent a high level command from the PC and in
turn generate the steps. Mach doesnt do that. DeskCNC and Flashcut have
proprietary montion control boards.
