Bandit 1 retrofit

I was wanting to reuse the stepper drives out of the Bandit 1
controller and use mach3 configured for quadrature output to control
them. I have read some posts where someone stated they did this and
was wondering if anyone who had experience with these could give me
any advice or details on their conversion. Also I haven't got all the
books yet on the control so I am looking for wiring schematics that
detail which pins on the amps are the inputs for the drive signal.
Actually a complete electrical schematic would be great if anyone can
help.
