PMDX-122 Bi-Directional breakout board, new product

on 2005-04-10 13:15:08 UTC
Well, finally got enough docs done to make
the product announcement....

PMDX has upgraded its PMDX-121 buffered
breakout board. It is now called the
PMDX-122 and supports bi-directional
usage of the data port pins. Added
features include:

Usage of data port as output or input
with direction control by jumper or
one of the status output bits.

LED indicators added to the 8 data bits.
Very helpful if you use them as inputs.

Ribbon cable connector option is standard
now. You can use Centronics connector
or remote DB-25 via ribbon cable.

"Charge Pump" can daisy chain between
boards, making two parallel ports run
with only one "charge pump" signal.

E-Stop can optionally be treated as
a standard signal that does not affect
outputs.

More data at:

These units are available now from stock.

They have logic level inputs and enough
+5 volts aux. power out for running
encoders such as the US Digital ones.

Manual is preliminary, but all the functions
and jumpers are documented. More examples
of wiring encoders and using multiple
boards will be added soon.
