Hey All;
Just found this group and have a I have a growing interest in CNC as
a
hobby. I am in the process of converting my old Smithy to DRO using
the Shumatech (DIY) DRO and Jenix scales. The project is going fine
and I hope to finish the conversion this weekend. While researching
the circuit designs, I made the mistake of punching CNC into google
and
now, I think it's going to get out of control. I hate to ask since I
know it has been asked many many times before, but what is a good
entry
level into CNC as far as controls, motors, and so forth. I plan on
purchasing a used bridgeport (or equivalent) and would like to retro
it
with CNC. I am a custom pistol smith specializing in 1911's (for a
hobby) so I love to tinker and do a lot of metal cutting. I have an
electronic background (USAF) and a good working knowledge of
mechanics
and computers. Are there plans or kits or just a good book on CNC
for
the beginner. Any help will be appreciated.
