Hi guys,
For converting to a servo to run a rather large cnc machine, do you
have any opinion which of these motors would be the better choice?
Image 120VDC 3HP 22.5Amps cont. duty, 33lbs $99.95
http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2005050813052906&item=10-
2098&catname=electric
(does the above motor use ball bearings? have any of you bought it?)
Pacific Scientific 1.5HP 111VDC 7.6Amps (impressive that they get
more hp out than they put in!) cont. duty 30lbs $89.95
http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2005050813052906&item=10-
1723&catname=electric
(does this motor use ball bearings? have any of you bought/tried it?)
I tend to trust pac-sci more than image (isnt that a walmart brand
treadmill?) but the image motor certainly seems to have more power.
Are there any other sources of ~$100 dc motors of this
voltage/current that I could check? Treadmill motors seemed to have
dried up somewhat.
Thanks!
Rick
