Educational version of Mastercam v.9 - surfaces?

I have an educational version of Mastercam 9. Until now I used it for
2.5 D machining using very simplified tutorial "Understanding
Mastercam". My question to somebody familiar with this educational
version: Can I use it to generate 3-D surfaces (and toolpaths) and if
so what kind of tutorial I may use? And if it is not possible, what
kind of software I may buy on Ebay for this purpose? Will be very
obliged for the information.
