Hi,

I would suggest you use the spindle design for the Quorn Tool and Cutter
Grinder but subsitute 7202B bearings, with an increase in diamensions where
necessary, in place of the magnito bearing specified. The spindle can be
manufactured on any lathe from table-top upwards.

Regards,

Terry

| Hi all,
|
| I lost the spindle on my T-Tech PCB and they want $500.00 for a new
| motor, and another $500 for the spindle/bearing assembley.
|
| the motor appears to be a custom thing, and unfortunaltly, one of the
| magnets let lose and shattered.
|
| So, I am in need of a new spindle.
|
| I purchased a CNConabudget spindle, but am not happy with the
| precision. The T-Tech can cut 0.005" lines, but this is cutting lines
| that are much larger.
|
| So, I am thinking of making my own.
|
| does anyone have any suggestions on how to get something that will run
| true ?
|
| I was thkinking of just making a sleeve and put in some ABEC-7
| bearings, then a ground shft with a set-screw shaft collar. They make
| a precision 0.1248" collar (Stock Drive Products) that might work.
|
| I'm also interested in the need for thrust bearings or angular contact
| or some such.
|
| Any comments or suggestions ?
|
| Dave
