The Machinery's Handbook says to quench chrome moly alloys in oil. The only
difference between 4130 and 4140 is carbon content.
Having material on hand weighs heavily in the decision for most of us. The
4130 should work if you are careful. Email me back in a few days if nobody
comes up with the drawing temp. I left all my teaching materials at the
school when I resigned but can probably talk someone out of what you need.
