Howdy..
I got the laser led's mounted on my machine, basically it is just a
Sears $39.99 Laser trac cut into parts, reinstalled into a aluminum
bracket. The led's throw the "stripe" of light by using a waffle
lookin lens. Using a USB logitech camera to scan it with, I am having
problems withe the camera pulsing, so I am thinking of writing a
picture file then using a windows subroutine to read the hex data in
each pixel.
Software is about 70-80 percent complete. I have the basic
interface form in visual basic and letting people upload it. I'd like
to sell the software and plans on ebay for a while to cover all the
time I have in it already.
Unit works by basic triangulation. You shoot the laser stripe, then
the camera is a known distance and a known angle, you measure
deviation of the right triangle in pixel to inches. My camera is a
640x480 but the ocx I am using sets the picture up to whatever camera
is configured in windows.
Any help? I'll post the basic exe file on the files section. I need
comments to change items. Scanning is not up and working yet. I am
thinking of using two slider scales to set pixel deviation
(recognition) and you click on the laser line in the beginning to
"grab" the color spectrum. Anything within the percentage of the
sliders would be a "on" pixel. The program grabs the hex number of the
point where the cursor is. play with it and lemme know.
I am not the smartest person here, nor in the world, but I am
stubborn as heck and keep hitting my head on the monitor and solving
problems.
