I think that with the Gecko having a limit of 80 volts and a 48volt
unregulated power supply comming out at 66 volts, the sweet spot would
be more like 55 volts of a trans.
A toroidal transformer of 55 volts an 800 VA on E-bay is roughly
$70.00 . you have to buy two and shipping is another $20.00
I am curious why you picked 40 volts.
