You can achieve the marking on anodized aluminum in the following different
ways:

1. A marking machine from companies like Telesis. The machine will pound on
the material and will give you a high resolution matrix printing type
characters.
2. A rotary engraving machine or your existing CNC machine should be able to
mark using proper tools.
3. CO2 based laser should react well to anodized metal. If speed is not an
issue, a low power (10 to 20 watt) cartridge should do the trick.

If it is one time requirement, we can help you out. We have rotary engraving
as well as CO2 laser machines available.

Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Marking aluminum

Hi all,

I'm looking for a way to make aluminum. probably blue anodized.

I need to put on a serial number and part number.

I was thinking about a laser but am not sure how easy it might be or
what to watch for.

Any comments ?

Dave
