AC Servo Update (Leadwell VMC)

Hi

Well fiddled more with the machine today.

Actually got the axis's to move under power! It's actually a pretty
fast machine. Rapids showing as 10M/min.

Had to disconnect the vfd to get this far. Needed to move the bus
terminator to the new last drive in the chain, it was on the VFD.

Not sure how much it's going to cost to have the vfd looked at, will
certainly be decision time soon<g>

I may take a look at those Elmo drives I mentioned a week back. At least
get one to try.

There's not much info on the motors in the manual or on their plates. I
know the following;

Power rating 300W @ 3000rpm
rated torque 9.7 kg-cm @ 3000rpm
peak torque 12 kg-cm STALLED

Phase current 6.1 A / V (as gleaned from parameter data)
Current Limit 12A

What in your opinions would be a safe motor voltage? The above figures
give 25v @ peak current or 49v at 6.1A.......

Seems low, but educated opinions welcome<g>
