Rotary Table Set-up???

HI all...... I will be trying to set up a cnc rotary table to use with my three axis cnc system. I will problably switch over the Y axis to the rotary table..... easy so far, but do I need to convert the cnc controller set-up parameters on the y axis to move in degrees or ? Currently it's set up using a 5 tpi lead screw with a microstepping resolution of 1/8, (stepper=200*8)*5 tpi=8000 steps per inch. The rotary table is in degrees, 1 turn = 6 degrees.... Where from here?

As far as programming it, could just treat the round material as just a flat area or, well pretty lose here too! My cad/cam program can program a rotary axis, but I will have to check this out more.
