Well, the main reason I want a laser engraver is lack of need for finishing
work. No sanding, no swarf, and in the case of acrylic no polishing. And they
are quiet as can be.

Just put a blank in, hit start, and you have a finished product!

I just could not see paying $15,000 USD for a 35 Watt 18" x 24" Laser
engraver, when a 75 Watt 24" x 36" one was about $23,000.

Maybe that gentlemen that has some lasers for sale could email me the
details/pricing and see if I can retrofit one to my gantry router.
