Q: how to build basic CNC machine?

Yes, I am a complete nubbie.

I hope to build a simple CNC machine w/ a 1' to 2' bed and X and Y
movement.

Any hints as to how I can begin this project? I went to the GA TECH
books store and got two books on CNC programing which truly did not
provide any info on building a machine.

Any help -- much appreciated.
