If you are going to be driving the amp in pwm mode then for discrete
fets you need gate drivers etc etc.
One simple solution is an integrated power module from IRF, see
http://www.irf.com/product-info/datasheets/data/irams10up60b.pdf
It has three pairs of IGBTs ('1.5 H-bridge' ?) for driving AC motors.
Fairchild makes similar chips.
If you want only one H-bridge there might be other chips for that.
