syncrostep controller problems

I just bught a CNC router with a testra syncrostep controller. the
controller is old and uses DOS..the machine does nt like to find its
home and seems to be running backwards any advice? should I just
ststr over and get a new controller or have some one try and fix it.
It als does it have any manuals and it doesnt lik to respond to my PC.
I need help ASAP
