Hi Mariss,

Interesting that you bring up Ethernet. I recall that you stated that
Mach supports Ethernet, but not USB, and that G100 supports both.

Yes, I'd like to see the parallel port stick around. But with the
apparent prevalence of USB, it's got my interest!

short-haul vs long-haul? I assume you are talking about transmission
distances, and not life span? Or maybe it's the other way around?

What do you see as a benefit, one over another? Maybe they just have
their own nitches? I'd like to take on USB first.

I look at CNC as a hobby. I'm an "Amateur CNC Machinist". I'm also
quite interested in microprocessor hardware and software, and motion
control; so I want to explore all the angles!

Then there's a very similar hobby, robotics. I hear a hexapod (robot)
calling my name...

I'm spread too thin!
