Upgrading a Spectralight Mill/Lathe

I have come across several Spectralight mills and lathes.

From what I see on Ebay, they are highly sought after.

What is the recommended route in upgrading these machines to today's
standards?

What would you upgrade mechanically, electronically and softwarewise
and why?
