Being as how it's a week end, I thought you all might like to share some of
my misery... and give me some advice ... off list unless it would apply to
the list in general.
****
A mouse incredibly found it's way into the main box of my Kitamura zero (
1988 with Kit 100 computer,8000 rpm spindle, 12 tool carousel ) :: this
was bad enough, but the little guy chewed through all kinds of wiring ...
and somehow resulted in burning out the z axis amplifyer. we got the main
computer working, but the z amp appears trashed. simple :Call Kitamura::
oops, the 1988 machine is obsolete, no longer supported. they could have a
z amplifyer built in japan, take 6 months, and be about $10 K ( 10 0 0 0 )
... eeek. OK, check out retrofit ... $10K from centroid ....
************
the biggest problem is that we are a very small shop, and 10K is too big a
load to swing in the near future.
the iron on this little cutie is still very nice, and is still as accurate
as ever ... any ideas? The main box talks to one PLC, and half the
actuators are pnuematic, including the tool carousel and main spindle clamp
and changer arm sequence.
***********
regards, ken campbell, delta inc
Hey , how about putting hand wheels on everything and have a precision
ballscrew "bridgeport" .....
