Minimization of Machining Time

The May 2006 issue of American Machinist,
www.americanmachinist.com, has an article discussing optimizing CNC
machine tool feedrates to achieve a constant volume removal of
material. This minimizes machining time and is easier on the tools.
The catch? You need yet another software package. Not so bad
though, you do not need a license for every machine. You can run the
optimization software on a standalone PC.
The article made sense to me. I have not yet seen such software
in use.
