Well, according to the calculator on the Nook website, I input a
couple values
40 pounds loading - about average for a home shop type machine
712 pounds dynamic load rating - value for typical 5/8" ball screw
and it spit out a value of 5,639,752,000 inches of travel.
So, unless I am missing something, that's a bit more than 1 or 2
million inches of travel.
even at 150 pounds of loading it comes back with
106,946,408 inches of travel
But frankly, you have to be doing a lot of constant "In-cut" time to
add up that sort of continuous screw loading.
I didn't have time to play any more with it, but I think you get the
idea.
