Hi Fred;
I sure wish someone would tell 3 of the machines that I work with that let's
say Scaling for one was the same, most Modal codes are close but as Clinton
said "Close but no Lewinski", also seem to be some differences between our
Hunyadi and our Bridgeport, neither of them agree with each other, and don't
even get me started on our Ani-lame Crusader, (really made me loose my faith
in Crusader Rabbit )
As you knowledgably pointed out, for many functions they are the same, but
standardized means "ALL ARE THE SAME" as in a given standard , actually a
dictionary I found gives this example of standardized
"stan.dard.ized, stan.dard.iz.ing, stan.dard.iz.es
1. To cause to conform to a standard.
2. To evaluate by comparing with a standard.
I guess the Machine tool manufacturing companies need to the big words or
standardize their G codes or am I missing something. Or is this like being a
little bit pregnant????
