A few weeks ago I built a 3 axis servo system for a guy with one of the
Techno Isel routers. We decided that removing the brake and replacing it
with a 2/1 ratio timing belt drive would be simpler. If you planned to use
G320 servo amps and you wired up the err/res so that any axis that faulted
would cause all three to fault could also cause the Z axis to backspin and
drop the rotating spindle onto the table. The 2/1 ratio should prevent the
backspin.
