Will This Work???

Hi Everybody and Happy Thanksgiving,

I hooked up a Rotozip to a Dewalt 18V battery and it runs great.
It's a Sear's version. It's well made and very tough.
It also works with the HF $13.99 speed controller, but the lower the
speed...the less power(naturally).

Will a PWM circuit make this universal motor more powerful at lower
speeds?

The goal here is less dust and noise for late-night work. I've
routed out a few things in MDF on the mini-mill and the dust doesn't
go everywhere with the slower speed. With the belt drive, noise
is tolerable. I'd cnc it, but the Y travel is too small(4+").

I made a spindle, but the right motor isn't on hand. If there's a
way to use the Rotozip with DC power and PWM, It could be nearly
the perfect spindle for homemade machines.

I know PWM will work, but can I expect power and torque? IS there
a way?

Thanks

John
