Those are the MCG IH34110 452 oz in stepper motors that I sell. These are
the motors that Mariss has tested and said were the best most linear motors
he ever tested.
Here is a video of my retrofitted mill drill using ballscrews on the XY axis
with my antibacklash ballnuts. The Z axis was modified with the Pinion shaft
being cut down and two excentric bushings install in the power frame head so
I can adjust the backlash down to about .002. The fine feed worm wheel
housing was modified by elongating the mounting holes for zero backlash in
the worm gears. If any is interested I have a file that I can send detailing
the Z axis mods.
The control box is the one that I sell but used the G203 with a 42V DC power
supply
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-682296107035413531&q=cnc+mill+drill&hl=enply.
The motors were wired bipolar parallel and I used a G100 to condition the
signal that mach3 put out. Speed in rapid traverse moves was 110 IPM.
The motor mounts were made from 4" square aluminum tubing. The motor mounts
were designed for both nema 34 motors and my 4" Ametek servo motors.
