Both kept the original motors and power supply, Both had the old invertor drives replaced by moder telemechanique drives so we could run the spindle using the C11G board from CNC4PC
Both were wired to us the chinese stepper drives as we have had good sucess with these as they are fully protected and substancially made.
Original limit switches, pressure oiling and coolant were all retained and wired in.
Both machines were setup with Mach3.
There is a company in the UK that took over from north east Electronics, the original manufacturers but again they are specialised and pricey. At least with off the shelf drives and cards and Mach3 it's easy to fault find and replace if there are any problems.
