We are looking for a couple of hobby/small shop sites to help develop special drivers for Vector.
In particular, I am looking for a location with a MaxNC and/or an AHHA mill site, and also the same brands with rotary 4th axis These would be using MaxNC and Ahha controller software. (John Stevenson was kind enough to forward me some information about the Ahha at one point in the past, which made me realize that there was more that we could provide to support this controller)
If you already have Vector & would like to work with us to develop these drivers, that would be great, if not, we are offering a 4 month extended access to Vector to the selected sites. We just need one site of each, and this is ONLY for people that already have and are using the named equipment.
Our goal with this program is to identify and produce custom configurations for as many of the popular machine controllers as possible. We already have done this for several machines, and would like to add these two before the end of August. If you have a machine and or controller that we don't presently have a driver for, please feel free to suggest that we add it to our growing list of special machine controllers.
When we produce a special machine control, we try to add as many of the controllers commands as possible/practical. At the present time our rotary is a generic metric or USiso inch, and there seems to be some need for more specialized setups. Also things like drilling cycle parameters are usually set up as interactive dialogs specific to each machine.
Some that we already have include EMC, Flashcut, Microkinetics, and Shopbot.
Best Regards,
Fred Smith- IMService
