Rodent computor program

Hi to the group.
Back many issues of M.E.W. there were several articles
about using computor mice as encoder / counter inputs. I want to do this
on my lathe, but when I went looking for the free ware site, guess what
? they now charge for it !
I have asked my son in UK to buy a kit for me (they will only work with
UK bank cheques ) But in the time before that happens (I might get it
this year still) Please has anyone still got a copy of the original free
rodent software program so that I can do one or two axis tests.
