There is a lot more to it than that, Ballendo of his own making was at one
time banned from the group for almost a year. Of course he was joined under
another name, but did stop his behavior.
We had problems with both Fred, and Ballendo, and they were both on
moderated status for quite a long time.

When Ballendo started DIYCNC, I had no problems with that, and also joined
and read that group, as I still do.
When he left several other people that did not want to live with the list
rules here, including some that had banned, joined that group also. And I was
flamed for a long time on it.
I think that this group has done a lot more good than it has harm.
Before I started in 1996, there was nothing for the hobby CNC that I or
anyone else could really point too. We started with 12 people, I still have the
very first sign up list.

One example of progress, is the Mach group, at first Art was quite active
here, but as it grew and became more specialized, he started a dedicated group,
and I think that is as it should be. Basically the same with Sherline and
other specialized groups.
