I have finally got around to getting a Camtronics 3 axis 5amp
controller running after a couple of years on the bench. I purchased
some step and direction software and wired up a socket as per the
software instructions. I connected the board to an old 386 that I had
picked up and tried to jog the motors back and forth. The motors did
not move, in fact they did not seemed to be energized at all, they
had
no resistance to turning with the fingers. There is pulse generator
on
the board with a 555 timer that can be connected to the step line.
This works on all three outputs so I assume that the board is ok.
I would be very grateful for some hints on where to look next.
