Hi Roger

Another way this can be done is to use a servo amp that takes an analog command input such as +/- 10 volts that is supplied by a board that takes the step/dir input and the encoder feedback signal. I have a good sized bed mill (20 x 40" travel) that is running this way on mach3. Works very well. The board is simple and based on a Galil GL-1200 chip plus a few op-amps and logic gates. It's easy to find servo amps that take the analog input in whatever current and voltage you need. This system is not as easy to tune as one with geckos, but it will do the job.

Hi,
I've got a large servo mill running Mach3 and G320's. They work OK but
I would like more amps/voltage to improve performance. Can you
recommend, other than Rutex and Gecko, any reasonably priced 100+ volt
20+ amp step direction servo amps? Any news? I know a couple of people
are working on developing them but I haven't seen anything yet.

Roger
