I have a hitachi 2.2 kw = 3 hp from drives warehouse in the us.
about 400 $.
It takes in 110 60 hz or in my case 220 50 hz -
so it will work anywhere in the world.
I am very happy with it.
Its bigger than needed - but will work anywhere and will last much
longer in the hot climates in am and will be in.
To interface with mach,I use a c11 multifunction card from arturo at
cnc4pc.com, about 120 $.
He has very good attention and service, the c11 is a bargain for what
you get.
It produces an analog out that goes to the vfd.
Btw - I believe a 1" hole should be step drilled for accuracy and to
make the bits last.
If starting with a pilot hole, no problems.
My 1.1 hp drill press struggles at 20 mm (4/5") in mild steel with no
pilot hole -
but drills it (smoking and sizzling, blue chips flying)
with a 4-6 mm pilot no problem (and the chips aint blue any more).
Have not tried with the BP - i do under 12 mm end mills.
And I´m not a classically trained machinist.
